ADSS cables are stranded in loose tubes. 200um or 250um fiber in a loose tube made of high modulus plastic. The tube is filled with waterproof filling compound. The tube (and filler) is twisted into a compact circular cable core around the FRP as a non-metallic central strength member. After the cable core is filled with filler. It is covered by a thin PE inner sheath. After applying a twisted layer of aramid yarn as a reinforcement on the inner jacket, the cable is completed with a PE or AT (anti-tracking) outer jacket.

It can be installed without turning off the power.
Excellent AT performance, the maximum induced voltage at the operating point of the AT sheath can reach 25kV.
Light weight and small diameter reduce loads due to ice and wind as well as loads on towers and struts
The span is large, the maximum span exceeds 1000m.
Good tensile strength and temperature properties.
The design life is 30 years.
